Information session was held within the grant competition jointly held by the Council on State Support to Non-Governmental Organizations under the Auspices of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan with the Ministry of Agriculture on financing NGO projects in 2020.
Ilham Guliyev noted that the Ministry of Agriculture is based on the principles of good and effective management, proximity to peasants and farmers, the application of innovations. The number of the specialized associations in the field of agriculture is rising lately. Deputy Minister added that the Ministry of Agriculture is regularly holding meetings with associations established on different fields and solves the issues operatively raised by public unions.
Executive director of the Council’s Secretariat Farasat Gurbanov said that the Council decided to hold joint grant competitions with different state bodies this year to properly carry out the forthcoming tasks and to organize high level of state support. The Council has appealed to about 20 government agencies to announce a joint grant competition. The Council is currently conducting a grant competition with 18 government agencies and other agencies. In total, 98 topics have been submitted to NGOs. The largest number of topics are presented in the joint grant competition with the Ministry of Agriculture. Thus, the Ministry presented 17 agricultural topics on agriculture to the Council. It is expected to support 34 projects and programs in the grant competition announced by the Council with the Ministry of Agriculture. These projects and programs are aimed at further development of rural agriculture.
Later, a video was shown on the application rules for the joint competition.
The application for participation in the grant competition from NGOs will be accepted until December 16. After the evaluation of proposals submitted by NGOs in 3 phases, funding of the winning projects will begin.
