Today, a meeting was held with Natalia Bourjaily, vice president of the International Center for Non-Commercial Law and Ulker Akbarova, representative of the US Agency for International Development (USAID) in Azerbaijan in the Council on State Support to Non-Governmental Organizations under the Auspices of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Farasat Gurbanov, Executive Director of the Secretariat of the Council, gave the guests detailed information about the SALIS program of the Council. He said that the system was created to improve the quality of electron services, to make it easier and more accessible to users, following the decrees and orders of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev on the development of e-government and transition to the digital government. He noted that the new programs implemented by the Council were highly appreciated by the international organizations as well.
The country leadership of the US Agency for International Development evaluated new electron services of the Council as an example of transparency. Technical assistance to the e-consultation program (Online Consulting Service) was made and necessary equipment for the organization of the service was purchased by the International Center for Non-Commercial Law with support of the Agency.
Natalia Bourjaily said the Center she represents has been cooperating with the Council for a long time. She said: “Today our cooperation has reached a new level. I should note that the NGO Council is an example of transparency not only for NGOs, but also for state bodies. I am constantly following the activities of the Council and I see it almost every time that a new e-service is launched. All of this is highly commendable. The e-consultation program of the Council is very important for regional NGOs. They will save both time and material resources. This innovation belongs to Azerbaijan. I work for the Eurasia region and I can say that this is the first experience in Eurasia and is an Azerbaijani model. I will share your experience with the Eurasian countries as a positive model.
Mrs. Natalia Bourjaily thanked the Chairman of the Council, Azay Guliyev, for innovative ideas and opportunities created for NGOs.
The Council member Alimammad Nuriyev, who attended the meeting, spoke about the work done by the Chairman and the Secretariat of the Council in preparation of the programs and thanked the Agency for technical support in the implementation of the e-consultation program.
In the end, the first presentation of the e-consultation program was held. A video call was made with the Resource and Training Center of the Gabala Regional NGOs and the activities of regional NGOs was discussed with the Resource Center's staff.
