Virtual Tuesday” event was held at the initiative of Nargiz Khalaf, member of the Council on State Support to Non-Governmental Organizations under the auspices of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Around 30 active women – heads of NGOs operating if the capital and regions participated in the event held with the support of Fuad Huseynzade, head of Union of Journalists of Diaspora. Head of Azerbaijan-America Women Community and New-York Azerbaijan House Minavvar Vahabova, head of Denmark-Azerbaijan Friendship Society, composer-pianist Kamala Maisgizi joined the event via Skype, as well. Active member of Azerbaijani diaspora in Russia Saadat Garayeva also joined the event.
Member of the Council Nargiz Khalaf congratulated all on the occasion of Wind Tuesday and provided information about the topic and purpose of the meeting. N.Khalaf noted that Women’s Cooperation Center was created on Facebook based on the proposals made in the first meeting: “Women NGO heads actively take part in different fields both in our country and abroad. Our purpose is to gather these women. This group is platform for cooperation in civil society and business”.
Head of Union of Journalists of Diaspora Fuad Huseynzade informed the participants about the guests who virtually joined from the US and Denmark. He stated that the women living in these countries are doing their bests to promote the realities of Azerbaijan.
Active member of Azerbaijani Diaspora in Russia Saadat Garayeva said that the activity of female members of Azerbaijani diaspora is worthwhile. They try to represent our country in a worthy manner not depending on where they are living.
Head of Azerbaijan-America Women Community and New-York Azerbaijan House Minavvar Vahabova, who joined the event via Skype, told that representing Azerbaijani women in the US is a glorious work: “The purpose of Azerbaijanis living abroad is to represent our homeland no matter whether they are women or men. Our aim is to promote Azerbaijan abroad and do our best for the sake of protecting its interests, for its flourishing”.
Head of Denmark-Azerbaijan Friendship Society, composer-pianist Kamala Maisgizi said that her aim is to strengthen friendship with the Danish people , as well as promoting our music, customs and traditions: “I promote Azerbaijani music along with representing our country in Denmark. I perform works by Azerbaijani composers and melodies of famous films in the concerts in Denmark. I also teach my students Azerbaijani songs here during my lessons, as well. I already have some students in Denmark who perform Azerbaijani songs”.
Questions were asked in “Virtual Tuesday”, discussions were held on the works to be implemented. NGO leaders stressed the importance of implementing joint projects for broadening their activity. It was noted that Azerbaijan’s success pleases each patriotic Azerbaijani.
