Today, Chairman of the Council on State Support to NGOs under the auspices of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan (hereinafter, the Council), MP, Azay Guliyev has met the Ambassador of the State of Israel to Azerbaijan Rafael Harpaz and Deputy Chief of Mission Ronen Krausz.
Ambassador expressed his confidence concerning the dynamically improving bilateral relations between two countries and mentioned that Israeli Minster of Foreign Affairs Avigdor Lieberman’s recent participation in the event dedicated to Khojaly genocide is a stark evidence of importance attached by Israel to these relations. He emphasized that the Republic of Azerbaijan is a unique secular state which is characterized with Islamic roots and culture. Ambassador also emphasized the necessity of promoting Azerbaijan’s experience in multiculturalism across the entire world.
Azay Guliyev also reminded that Jewish community has always equitably coexisted in Azerbaijan and has actively been involved in all spheres of national life. He also added that the Council is interested in building strong and dense cooperation and relations with all the NGOs, including the national and international organizations of Jewish community.
Parties also discussed the prospects of cooperation between Azerbaijani and Israeli NGOs, at the end of the meeting.
